This week has been a week of growth for me. I have been
putting my learning energy toward understanding more about how I might simplify
the process of signing up for my workshops and making it easier for
participants to make payments. There are many options for making payments
online, like Venmo, Apple Pay, and Zelle, and I like to offer as many as
possible. But there are still some who would rather send a physical check, and
others who would like to call with a credit card number, and others who will
only do PayPal. It would be nice to have one button on a web page that allows
them to pay with any method, and there are platforms that offer that service –
for a fee of course! But I have more research to do before I can make a choice
and set it all up.
I love teaching workshops – whether in person or online. So,
if I can reduce the administrative tasks, in addition to simplifying the
process for participants, it will open more time for the creative aspect of my
music business. Looking for balance, as always…
Sigh. 😕
Lots of great articles to continue to pour through.
🎶But in the meantime, I have a few fun gigs coming up!
On August 27th, I have been asked to perform for
the Neighbors Abroad International Festival in Palo Alto on my Swedish
Nyckelharpa. Here’s a link to the event, and it shows my promo photo with my nyckelharpa:

I’ll be joined by my good friend and musical colleague, Claudia
Slayman on harp and guitar for this one.
And then the next day, I’ll be performing again with Gaelic
Muses at Lily Mac’s Pub in Sunnyvale.
Here’s a flyer for that and also for our sets at the Pleasanton
Scottish Games the following Sunday:

Rehearsing for these gigs is bringing me great joy
amidst all the tedium of reading up on all I need to know to simplify the
business end of things! 💞
Ah, balance, that’s the goal.
